Registration for social soccer lessons for students aged 11 to 15 is now open, at the Arena Jonas Viega field, in the eastern area of the capital. The vacant positions, in total 60, are intended for the formation of groups that will open at the beginning of October, in the afternoon.
The activities are promoted by the municipality of Belo Horizonte and are part of the actions of the Esporte Esperança program, developed to ensure the access of children and teenagers, living in areas of social vulnerability, to sports, games, gymnastics and games.
The new classes will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at two times: 15:00 to 16:00 (men) and from 16:00 to 17:00 (women). Today, three mixed classes are offered in the morning for students from 7 to 12 years old.
To register, the interested party must come, in person, with an identification card, to Arena Jonas Viega, in the neighborhood of the same name, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Jonas Veiga Arena, where the classes are held, located at Rua Magnésio, 440, Jonas Veiga neighborhood, is part of a set of five soccer fields enjoyed by Várzea Viva, developed by the Municipal Department of Sports and Recreation. The plan aims to enable the retraining of the municipal soccer fields, with the installation of synthetic grass and LED lighting, in addition to the renovation of the locker room, a fence and other improvements.
Developed by the municipal department of sports and leisure, the Sport Hop is a program that aims to democratize access and experience in educational and recreational sports for children and youth aged 3 to 17, living in socially vulnerable areas.
